The Trinity Student Body
God's design for unity of the Body of Christ through diversity of its membership was a mystery to our brothers and sisters in the early church and remains a mystery to many today. Hear the words of Paul as he writes to the church at Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus:
"For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be
bond...For the body is not one member, but many…they many members, yet but one body… those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour…God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular."
The apostle Paul concluded this exhortation about unity through diversity by pointing us to 1 Corinthians 13 as the "..more excellent way." Paul spoke of unity through diversity and of a more excellent way in Romans 12 as well.
"For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another."
God blesses our Trinity Family with tremendous and significant diversity. Currently, over 6,000 students study and provide Kingdom Service in the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and 110 Foreign Countries. Our student body is representative of more than 185 denominations or church bodies. Currently, many of our students are in the military and stationed abroad. Of our 6,000+ students, 27% are female and 73% male. While the average age of our entire student body is 44-45, Trinity is serving the total range of students from young adults (18-22) to older adults (60-80+).
